Shopping for a dog carrier for your pet doesn't have to be difficult if you keep the most important features in mind for you and your furry friend.
The first thing you'll want to consider is your pet's personality. Does your dog like burrowing under blankets or sleeping in a crate? If so, you will probably want a dog carrier that has a top that zips up which will provide your pup with a feeling of safety and security by being in an enclosed environment.
On the other hand, if your dog is claustrophobic like my feisty little Chihuahua, you will probably want a bag like our flagship carrier the "Dauphine" (named after my Chihuahua of course) which has an open design so your dog can stick his or her head out at anytime and not feel confined.
Dauphine, aka @FattyTheChi loves to be able to pop her head out at anytime from her carrier and absolutely despises enclosed carriers. 😳
Another important item you will want to consider is your environment. Do you live in California where the weather is always nice and temperate? If so, choose a carrier that is made from natural fibers such as cotton, linen, hemp or any other breathable fabric to keep your pup cool and comfy.
If you live somewhere like Oregon where it rains a lot and is often misty, you may want to opt for a water-resistant carrier like our Dauphine bag in coated Italian linen which is not only water-resistant but stain resistant as it wipes clean due to the waterproof coating.
Whatever carrier you decide to choose, make sure that the manufacturer has included a safety strap to keep your pup nice and secure. We can't tell you how many times we've heard of dogs, especially toy breeds, getting injured due to jumping out of their carriers because they were startled by a loud noise.
To create something exceptional, your mindset must be relentlessly focused on the smallest detail.
